Instituto Permamar

Instituto Permamar works along Rio de Janeiro’s Costa Verde region to strengthen traditional communities—particularly Caiçara and Quilombola communities, as well as small-scale fishing communities—in protecting the ocean and restoring their territories. 

Its work integrates marine and coastal conservation, environmental education, climate justice, the solidarity economy, community-based tourism, and the promotion of traditional knowledge.
