Redes da Maré

Redes da Mare has worked for decades to guarantee rights in the favelas of Complexo da Maré, in Rio de Janeiro. Among its facilities, Casa das Mulheres da Maré provides support to women and girls aged 12 and up, focusing on combating gender-based violence, promoting sexual and reproductive health, and offering professional training — strengthening women’s role in the territory’s social transformation.

In its most recent focus area, Right to Health, the organization expands this approach by promoting an integrated territorial strategy linking education, health, and equity, through coordination between public schools, primary health care, and Redes da Maré facilities.
