#TeamRio Benefit Dinner at Fasano Raises Funds for Social Projects in Rio

The Hotel Fasano rooftop was the venue for the #TeamRio Benefit Dinner in Rio de Janeiro on August 8th, 2016. The fundraising event gathered 100 guests, and immediately followed a cocktail celebration at Casa Cisco. Rogério Fasano chaired the event, along with co-chairs Cafu and Alessandra Ambrósio.

Nizan Guanaes and Donata Meirelles, and Vik Muniz and Malu Barretto were the honorees of the night. The event opened with a special performance by Nathy, 15, who was born and raised in Cidade de Deus. Nathy is a member of Os Arteiros, a BrazilFoundation grantee and one of the 35 projects to receive resources from the #TeamRio campaign.

The funds from the auction will be dispersed amongst projects Escola Vidigal, Solar Meninos de Luz, Gastromotiva, and 31 other projects participating in the #TeamRio campaign.

Some of the items include: a surfboard and t-shirt signed by Gabriel Medina; artwork by Adriana Varejão; VIP tickets to the opening of the Paralympics; and a personalized portrait by Vik Muniz, which was so popular that he offered three more up for bid. 

The night ended with a performance by Alcione, and was followed by an after party at Londra.
