More than 60 women gathered at Neiman Marcus, Bal Harbour on December 1st in another event for the Women for Women Campaign, hosted by Suzane Macedo and Patricia LongmanThe event, attended by many of the Miami Chapter’s campaign supporters since its launch last year, celebrated the achievements of the initiative thus far and fundraised for additional projects.

Leonora Mol, Founder of Atêlie de Ideias/Programa Bem Morar, in Vitória, ES, a BrazilFoundation grantee in 2006, was present and discussed her project which works to increase incomes and improve housing by offering credit and training to women and families for home repairs.

The event also presented the limited edition Women for Women keepsake piece, a doll designed by Martha Medeiros. The doll was given to the women donors who have helped make the Women for Women campaign such a success.

Enough funds were mobilized to support one additonal project, this time Elas Emancipadas, of Instituto Banco Palmas in Fortaleza, Ceará. The project will foster economic independence for a group of women who run risks by remaining dependent on the Bolsa Família, by offering them micro-loans and training in entrepreneurship.
