Support vulnerable communities and the environment
The LUZ ALLIANCE Fund, launched by Gisele Bündchen in April 2020, was created to support emergency response efforts during the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil as thousands of families – particularly those in the most vulnerable communities – are being impacted. Gisele was moved by the mobilization and solidarity of people during this challenging period and expressed her appreciation: “My heart is filled with gratitude for all donations to the Luz Alliance fund. Because of the generous actions of people and businesses, of small and large donations, we will now be able to help even more people living in difficulty in Brazil. I thank you for all your support.”

With the raising of over 4 million Brazilian Reais, the fund helped different organizations from the North to the South of Brazil, from Amazonas, Ceará, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Pernambuco, Sergipe, Bahia, and São Paulo to Rio Grande do Sul, which allowed for thousands of people to receive aid in the form of food baskets, hygiene kits, and meals.
Bündchen, who is also passionate about nature and a fervent defender of the environment, wanted to expand the reach of the fund, which now starts to allocate resources to projects that focus on regenerating the environment as well. Gisele believes that “our health depends on the health of our planet.”
Bündchen’s initiative, in partnership with BrazilFoundation, raises funds to guarantee that thousands of families throughout Brazil’s basic needs are met, as well as to ensure the protection and regeneration of the environment.
BrazilFoundation will perform all due diligence and be responsible for identifying and recommending the projects and institutions that match the desired profile to receive funds.
About Luz Foundation
Created in 2007 by model and philanthropist Gisele Bündchen, the Luz Foundation is a private foundation which aims to support humanitarian, educational and environmental causes. The Luz Foundation created the LUZ ALLIANCE Fund with a donation of more than R$ 1,000,000 to support emergency response efforts that combat the impact of COVID-19 in Brazil. Subsequently, the fund was expanded to also serve environmental projects.

Tax Benefits
Brazil: BrazilFoundation is a non-profit organization, designated as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (OSCIP, as per its initials in Portuguese) under Law 9.790/99, Ministry of Justice file no. 08071.000389/2004/01, Corporate Taxpayer Registration No. 04.839.572/0001-10. A donation receipt can be issued for donations made in reals. The donor must request their receipt directly from BrazilFoundation. Since we are an OSCIP, tax incentives are only awarded to businesses taxed on their profits. These businesses can deduct the cost of donations up to 2% of their operating profit. An individual donor may report the amount donated when filing income tax, but will not receive a tax incentive.
USA: Contributions to BrazilFoundation – EIN 13 4131482, a non-profit under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Tax Code – are deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Individuals can deduct up to 50% of their adjusted gross income; companies may deduct up to 10% of taxable income, prior to discounting the philanthropic investment. BrazilFoundation provides a tax-receipt acknowledgement of the contribution it receives.
